Tofino 2013

We stayed at the Pacific Sands Beach Resort just south of Tofino for three nights starting May 17. We traveled Friday and Monday and had Saturday and Sunday for recreation. Saturday was drizzling but not too cold so we opted for a bear watching trip, the boat was enclosed so we were comfortable and spotted a number of bears as well as harbour seals and a bald eagle. Sunday it was whale watching. We had a fairly large covered boat which was good because it was fairly rough when we were out of the shelter of the islands. We did spot about a half dozen whales but all we saw were their backs so not really photogenic. There were also sea lions and more harbour seals on this trip.
