My Favourite Roads

Sooke, BC to Port Renfrew, BC

Along this road their are some very tight and rough sections of pavement

Port Alberni, BC to Tofino and Ucluelet

This ride involves some very tight and twisty sections sections

Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast Circle Tour

This tour ride involves four ferry rides to complete the circle and can be completed in one day if you get an early start

Vancouver, BC to Cache Creek, BC

This route crosses the Coast Mountains on a winding mountain road that is about 210 Kilometers from Cache Creek to Whistler. There are many spectacular views along this road.

Vernon, BC to Nelson, BC

The pink section is the prime motorcycle section of the ride

Kalispell, MT to Cardston, AB

This road is not for the enthusiast to rip along but the scenery is incredible and can be a continuation of the North Cascades Highway if you continue to follow Highway 20 to Kalispell, MT and then on into Glacier Park and up into Alberta. The northern point on the map below is Cardston, AB. In September of 1997 this was to be the highlight of my trip and it rained hard from just outside Kalispell until just past the summit, the only rain in six days of riding!

Southern Okanagan, North Cascades Circle Tour

This is a nice two day trip that takes highway 20 in Washington State (North Cascades Highway) across the state and enters Canada in the south Okanagan. It returns to Vancouver via Highway 3 and Highway 1.

Pacific Marine Circle Tour

The road from Port Renfrew to Cowichan Lake has finally been paved. This makes the road entirely suitable for almost any motorcycle. It is rough and twisty, some corners are marked at 20Kph. I have only driven it in my car, but next year when the roads are dry it will be a destination.
